To determine if dental implants are the right choice for you, we ask that you undergo a dental exam and health history. Your specific needs and considerations will be addressed either by Dr. Demarchi or by the oral and maxillofacial surgeon we refer you to during your consultation.

For implants to be a success, you will need to be in good general health, have healthy gums, and have enough bone in the jaw to support an implant. We will carefully examine your mouth and jaw structure during an exam to ensure.

How Are Dental Implants Done?

Dental implants are metal anchors, which act as tooth root substitutes. They are generally made of titanium and are placed surgically into the jawbone. These root substitutes provide an anchor for the replacement tooth.

Dental implant surgery generally takes place over 2 appointments. During your first appointment, the implant is placed beneath the gum tissue, which is then stitched back into place.

The implant bonds with the bone and gums during healing, which might take several months. You’ll likely need to wear temporary dentures while the bonding occurs.

At your second appointment, a small post is attached to the implant, which protrudes through the gums. This post anchors your replacement teeth, which are specially designed for your mouth and the look you want to achieve.Generally, the whole process takes 6–8 months with minimal disruption to your daily life.
